Ideas for Decorating Your Garage for Halloween
Halloween is just around the corner and that means it’s time to get creative with your outdoor decorations. Typically, homeowners decorate their entryways and porches, but did you know you can utilize your garage as well? Here are several Halloween garage decor ideas to help get your creativity flowing as we enter the spooky season.
Wrap It!
A simple but effective way to decorate your garage is to wrap it with an image or design. There are so many options available online and even at your local Home Depot that showcase things like a spider web, cemetery, pumpkin patch, witch’s caldron, and more! This takes virtually no time to install but can have a big impact on how your house looks for trick or treating! Amplify the decoration with some focal lighting and other Halloween décor like pumpkins or string lights and you are ready in no time!
Use it as a Backdrop
Specifically for the night of Halloween and trick or treating, you can utilize your garage door as a backdrop for creating a fun or spooky scene. Set up your skeletons, grim reapers, and goblins in front of your garage with spider webs, fake blood, and lights to create a 3-D experience for your trick or treater guests.
Install LED Lighting
Preprogrammed LED light shows are growing in popularity, especially for the Christmas holiday. However, you can utilize them for Halloween as well! Get a Halloween filter with the right colors and you too can have a dancing light show of ghosts. Hint: Project it onto your garage to avoid the light coming into your home windows.
Make Your Garage Into a Jack-o-Lantern
With a little bit of creativity and some basic materials as simple as paper and tape, you can transform your garage into a jack-o-lantern or face. This can be a simple project that you and the whole family can do on a nice fall day leading up to Halloween.
Got Windows? Play Around with Shadows!
Windows on a garage door present a fun opportunity to create spooky shadow scenes. With simple materials like construction paper and tape, you can make silhouettes of hands, skeletons, or ghosts that you mount to the inside of the window. Then you can switch on your internal garage lighting to create shadow décor!
Mix and Match All of These!
There are so many different things you can do to your garage this Halloween season to get in the spooky spirit but why pick just one? Mix and match your favorite ideas and trends and see what works best for your garage and your budget.
