A Year in the Life of a Milwaukee Garage

Greetings from your neighborhood garage, crafted by the team at J.D. Griffiths. A garage writing a year-end reflection might sound unusual, but this year has been anything but ordinary. And who better to offer a unique angle than the structure that sees everything from the driveway?

Grab something warm, settle in, and let’s revisit 2025 together—one moment at a time.

A Winter That Didn’t Quite Know What It Wanted to Be

The start of 2025 came with a typical Wisconsin winter, arriving with its usual sniffles and sneezes of snow. While some of my neighbors groaned in frozen protest, my well-insulated self enjoyed the soft flurries in comfort thanks to J.D. Griffiths’ quality craftsmanship!

Sure, a few salty tires rolled in, but nothing I couldn’t handle. Compared to the polar vortex winters of years past, this one was practically a warm hug… at least for me that is.

Spring: The Year’s Great Stretch and Yawn

Then came spring—finally! You know that first day when a Milwaukeean opens the garage door and just stands there breathing deeply like they’ve discovered oxygen for the first time? I saw a lot of that.

The snow melted away, the bikes came down from their hooks, and suddenly, the weekend projects arrived! I missed them. From keeping an eye on the new mulch to watching dad prep the lawnmower for it’s first ride of the season, I was at the center of it all. With all the activity, it came time for my annual checkup too, aka “the big garage reorganization“. I’m feeling better already!

Summer: Festivals, Fire Up the Grills, and Flying Open Garage Doors

After spring came the season of hosting. From neighborhood BBQs and kids birthday parties, to at-home Brewers tailgates and casual hang outs, I became a main stage for all the festivities. From the space I have to the shade I provide, I got lots of compliments!

The true test of summer came in August, with flash floods that arrived fast and loud. Luckily, J.D. Griffiths built me strong as can be! I made it through, protecting my owner’s vehicles and belongings in the process. A good garage is built for the unexpected, after all!

Fall: Pumpkin-Spiced Perfection

Autumn in Wisconsin this year was the kind of season that artists dream about.

As the beautiful leaves fell, homeowners near and fall pulled out their rakes, ladders, and the mysteriously heavy bin labeled “FALL DECOR.” I stored hay bales, wreaths, and more gourds than any one family truly needs, but it sure looked pretty!

The Holidays: Where I Truly Shine

And now here we are, my favorite time of year.

I get to help hide presents.
Store the wrapping paper.
Keep the snowblower ready.
Hold the overflow from holiday gatherings.

And keep my family safe and warm from the bitter cold outside these walls.

Lights twinkle outside, warm laughter echoes inside the home, and I stand by: Operating smoothly. Looking pretty. And watching over my people and their belongings.

A Final Thought: Built Strong for Whatever Comes Next

2025 gave us mild snows, sunny highs, stormy lows, and plenty of moments in between. Through it all, garages across Milwaukee did what they always do: protect, support, store, shelter, and stay sturdy.
